An army captain is flying three misfit deserters home for a court martial when the plane has engine trouble and they crash-land in the ocean near an uncharted island. There they find a primitive society of cave women who routinely sacrifice virgins to appease The Great One, the top-dog dinosaur on the island. Mistaken for gods as part of a prophecy, the men must destroy The Great One or face death, but meanwhile they fall in love despite the advice of their Queen, who tries to dissuade them from being corrupted by the outsiders' ways. Wynorski and Ray said they rewrote the script entirely. They knew who they were going to cast, employing actors they had worked with before, and tailored the script accordingly. They based the characters of the soldiers on characters in Stripes. Wynorski says he and Ray made it "on a wing and a prayer". Not the best acting you've ever seen but if you suspend your criticism of the story and the acting then the movie is enjoyable. The special effects are adequate, not spectacular. What is spectacular is the scantily clad women in numbers and attraction, some corny stuff in the dialogue but worth a look and a laugh. Format: Prime Video. I am sure this was never intended to be more than a B drive in movie which it succeeded at nicely, and yes the plot was never intended to be anymore than a fun bit of silliness.

And after having sat through epic stink fests like the titanic,[yep thought it was crapola! Anyway if your looking for a simple plot and TNA movie this one should serve you well! Format: VHS Tape. I find it hard to believe that this truly, purposely funny very campy movie is not available on DVD! It really does have some of the worst special effects ever, but who really cares about bad effects and lousy, cheap dinosaurs, when it offers some of the truly best B movie actresses ever! It's a classic DD, err I mean B, soft porn flick!!

I'm a great fan of Michelle Bauer and go to great lengths to find her films!. If You like cute well rounded women running around half-naked for an hour and a half, This is what I bought it for and why love it!

If you buy it thinking of Oscar movies, then save The Money to buy Dr. I love B and DD movies and this is one of my favorites. Net Flix carries a High Def copy of this for streaming. I wish they would make this this into a DVD! They have high def copies of a lot of other crummy movies that I,d give anything to have on DVD. I'm at a lost as to why this movie has yet to have had an official And uncut dvd release. I taped it off of Cinemax about 25 years ago and thought it was terrific, especially since it starred two of my favorite B-movie actors ever, Ross Hagen and Michelle Baur.

When I see that most similar movies form the 90's have long ago been released on dvd, it makes me wonder what's keeping this one off dvd release lists?

This is a very cheesy film featuring soft core movie stars. The dinosaurs are as realistic as sock puppets and they make Gumby look human. American soldiers are stranded on an island inhabited by what appears to be a casting call for an Andy Sidoris film. The women are extremely beautiful and don't grow leg or armpit hair. They do bath topless and frolic in the water like girls at the Playboy mansion. They don't tan very well either. Corney jokes and lines abound, nothing that is a knee slapper.

Make no mistake, the nudity is the main attraction with a token cat fight. Ray Harryhausen it's not, but in it's own way, it's not that bad. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes for instance. I would rate Tomatoes a -4 if it were possible! This movie is WAY better! For example: The Dinosaur eating the wounded soldier; if a real Dinosaur ate in this fashion, it would most likely choke.

Somebody would have to perform the Heimlich Maneuver on it. Overall, I found it amusing. Not boring, not scary, not the best acting, but amusing. I'm going to look for the DVD to purchase.
